Refrigeration, solar and battery storage as one connected system

The Powering On System

From the Sun, to the vat

Four parts, designed together: high-efficiency cooling, solar on the roof or in the paddock, battery storage where it suits your site, and the smarts that decide where every unit goes.

All of it ready to link with the systems already in your shed.

Milk cooling is the biggest electrical load on most dairy farms, so it's where the system begins. We install high-efficiency chillers on low-GWP A2L refrigeration. Cryvex was among the first in New Zealand to adopt low-GWP refrigeration on farm, so this is proven on NZ sheds, not a first attempt.

Refrigeration: Start with the best cooling available

The Powering On array is sized to what your shed actually uses for milking, cooling and pumping, using your shed's own data, so the roof doesn't set the limit. Panels go on the shed roof or ground-mounted in a paddock.

Panels and batteries come from established, globally recognised manufacturers, the kind banks are happy to lend against and that will still be around to honour a 25-year warranty. We select them with our solar specialists.

Solar: Sized to your milking, not your roof

Battery storage and energy management

Midday sun, 5am Milking

Solar generates when the sun shines; your shed needs power at milking. A battery holds daytime generation until you need it, so less of your own power goes back to the grid at a low export rate. Every system is battery-ready, so storage can be added or grown later.

The brains of the system

Energy management software decides, moment by moment, when the farm uses stored power, when it draws from the grid and when it exports. It's how you take control of what you buy, and when.
